The Humaniversity AUM Meditation

The AUM is a 2 and a half hour, 13 stage (most stages are 10-15 minutes) dynamic, interactive meditation and personal growth process. It is an opportunity to look at your emotional life and reclaim the joy of simply being alive.

The participants journey through the whole spectrum of human emotions, including anger, love, sadness, laughter and chaos. All stages are accompanied by specially designed and often uplifting music. Unlike conventional therapy or meditation, the AUM is interpersonal - it can be deeply effective, experiential and provide lasting results.

The AUM is led by professionally trained meditation leaders. AUM stands for Awareness Understanding and Meditation. The AUM Meditation was created in the 70s by Veeresh D. Yuson-Sanchez, an outstanding therapist and teacher who became famous for his work in the Human Potential Movement.

Veeresh and the Humaniversity

Veeresh founded the Humaniversity in Holland in 1978 with the aim of training therapists and people who work with people. He is an innovative therapist and a compelling and inspiring teacher who has created many therapeutic processes, including the AUM Meditation and other Social Meditations. The Humaniversity is also known as the 'Friendship University'.

Veeresh was born in New York in 1938. From the age of 14 until 28 he was a drug addict. Then he entered a rehabilitation program at Phoenix House in New York, a drug-free therapeutic community for intensive rehabilitation. There he began his involvement in personal growth. He graduated top of the class as an Addiction Specialist and was selected to go to England to establish Phoenix House London. In 1974 he met his spiritual master Osho. Osho made him aware that it was a gift to express his creativity, love and power to change lives in a positive way. All of Veeresh's social meditations are dedicated to Osho.

The Aum Meditation is Veeresh's small contribution towards world peace.
